It’s Time to Move Into the “Discomfort Zone…”

get_transmogrified_notesTRANSMOGRIFICATION NOTE #5: How are you doing with your Transmogrification this month? Are you moving forward at a rewarding rate, or have things slowed down? Is your business life visibly changing the way you want it to, or are you still stuck with the same ole’ problems?

Sometimes it can be very frustrating for professionals like me who work with bright-eyed entrepreneurs, because I can get caught up in their dreams. I can imagine how great their lives will be when they’ve accomplished the tasks we set out to do. I can see the benefits: a much larger income, cash in the bank, a satisfying life, and the rush of knowing that they are in control of their life.

Then the comfort zone hits, because even though I can see the finish line, they are standing still. They have each put in hours to develop new skills and change their business building habits. They have followed my advice. They have begun digging for their red diamond, and they’ve done very well.

But, it all stops.

I can’t say I know the answer for each of them as to why it stops, but I’m sure there are many reasons. But I suspect they have done everything they could do (in their minds) comfortably and have arrived at a place where they’ve never been before.  Which by the way is the beauty of Effició – we take you on a journey that will challenge and push you to unbelievable places in the mind, body, and soul.  But for those who stop, I feel that any new step forward at that stopping point is a step out of their comfort zone.

It’s time to move into the “Discomfort Zone…”

I’m not one to do the same things the same way all the time.  I like to explore, try new ways, do different things – but it’s natural for me.  I think I was born this way.  For those of you who have a hard time getting out of your comfort zone, I recommend starting with baby steps.  Don’t tackle anything that will completely turn your world upside down, instead maybe try turning left to go to the store vs. turning right.  You never know what you might find.

You’re not alone; a lot of people have this stumbling block.  You have to realize when get in your little place where you are comfortable but unhappy.  Inside you know that it’s not going to grow your business or expand your growth as a person, so you have to want to succeed, you have to be open to new things and you have to take the initiative and do it yourself.

You have to let go of that comfort zone which is really a fear zone.

Your Transmogrifyer,
